Lighting up a corridor

This is a corridor lit up by 4 target spots. To do this I made a box the deleted the top and the two ends then i put a cone and a target spot and changed the intensity and edited a few features of the light such as its hotspot and its fallout. Then I duplicated the cone which is the lightshade and the target spot and this is the end product.
I then added some fog to try and make i more dramatic. I think that it looks quite interseting but I think that there is a bit to much fog and next time I do this I need to make it so there isnt as much fog.

This is my first attempt at a light render. I dont think it is that good as there is no blur onthe edge

I think that this light is better because it is slightly blurry around the outside and looks more like a light.

For this light i turned it from a square into a rectangle. I think it makes it look more like a light again because it fades away sround the edges alot more.

For this one i ave put 5 lights in like a square with on in the middle shape. I did this because i decided to mess about to see what happened and i think it turned out quite interesting.

Then i decided to change some of the colours of the lights and then the shadow changed different colours and i think it looke really interesting

3d max

This is my spaceship. I made it in 3d max. First i made a bot with 5 length, width and height segments. Then i deleted all the polygons on the inside face and cloned it as an instance. I did this because when you clone something as an instance anything you do on the instance copy's over to the non instance object that it is a clone of. Then i turned it into an editable mesh and I edited it
Then I attached them together using the attach tool and then i welded them.

First animation

This is my first attempt at at animation

20th october 2010 in 3D max

This is what we did today in 3Dmax
We used the text tool in the spline section and then applied different textures to them.

Here are 6 renders of my name in different textures the names of the textures in order.
Wood
Swirl
Splat
Smoke
Planet
Marble
Here is a professional example I like the top left and bottom two fonts more than mine because they have different textures on the front than they do on the top.
The top right is a good font because it has a high specular level and reflects light.
If these examples where all 10 out of 10 then i would give mine a 7 out of 10 due to the fact that the specular level is not very high and the front and top are the same texture.

Every wednesday we do tutorials on 3d max where we learn to make different thing using different techniques.
This is my pick up truck made from box modeling techniques. I extruded parts to make the bumper.
I edited the edges and pulled them in to give the car a more realistic shape.
At the start i was detaching the polygons and then changing the colour but then i found out about the material tool and used that to make the windows and wheels different colours.
I then got a Nissan logo and blank number plate and put them on the car by dragging them from my pictures to a plane in 3d max and moved the plane into the position i wanted it in then by using the text tool i wrote SW33T RID3 on the number plate but for some reason it didn't show up in the render.
Then to finish it off i put a road just below it.
We then had a challange to make our own car. I decided to make a f1 car. I wanted to make a mclaren because these are my favorite f1 team but i souldnt figure out how to do the red parts on the side so i made a ferrari.
I used the extrude tool to make the wheels look more like f1 tyres.
